Goals of Program
This HYS fall soccer program involves boys and girls in 5 age groups (Under
6, Under 7, Under 8, Under 10)in a recreational soccer program.
The main objective of the program
is for children to have fun and competition playing soccer with their friends in an organized program, while also learning
soccer skills, teamwork, etc. U-14 age group play in an 11 v 11 format. Boys and girls in all age groups are on separate
teams. The program consists of an 8 week regular season with all games on Saturdays (between approx. 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.).
HYS participates in the Cranberry Fall League for U12 and above which consists of surrounding towns. U10 age group will
have an opportunity to play in a fall competitive league on Saturday afternoon at their discretion if the roster allows.
Fall travel teams offer an opportunity beyond recreational soccer for player development and competition in a statewide
system of age-level play. Our goals for the 2007 season are three-fold: increase player knowledge of the
game, build on team tactics and, most importantly, to keep the game safe and fun for all involved with an emphasis on
good sportsmanship.
The Fall travel soccer program is called the Cranberry Fall Soccer League. It is not quite as competitive as Spring
travel, but does involve travel to other towns primarily on Route 3. There are no playoffs and no standings published. It is
intended to promote soccer in a competitive environment. We have open rosters, coaches can invite HYS registered players to
play during the season. It is possible to also play HYS instructional program but there may be conflicts as both
organizations play their games on Saturdays. Hanson Youth Soccer participate in the Cranberry League for U14 players. We will
not need new uniforms for fall. The cost to each player for Fall Travel Registration is $60, the season starts in mid
September and finishes in early November.
Where
Games are played on either our home fields or away at fields of the teams
