Fall Recreational Program
Fall recreation league in partnership with Whitman Youth Soccer for players in grades 3 to 9.

Key features of the program will include:

• Saturday games at the Whitman Middle School and weekday practices as arranged by the parent-coaches.
• Skill sessions to be offered to both players and parent-coaches by our partner Liverpool and by others.
• Mixed-ability teams made up of both Whitman and Hanson players.
• Separate boys and girls teams for grades 3 to 6; co-ed teams for grades 7 to 9.
• Teams coached by pairings of Hanson and Whitman parent-coaches (assuming an adequate number of volunteers from both towns).
• Uniform shirts are included in the program price.

Spring Travel Program

Children in grades 3-8 are invited to participate in our competitive travel teams which include weekday practices with a weekend game. Please see the travel page under the programs tab for more information. 

1st/2nd Grade

Hanson Youth Soccer is excited to announce that we are continuing our partnership with Whitman Youth Soccer by creating a joint recreation program for the first graders.

Key Program Features

• Choice of 2 1-hour skills session: 6PM at Whitman Middle School or 4PM at Robinson Field
  
• 1 hour 4v4 appropriate games that more closely align with U.S. Soccer development guidelines
• Saturday games rotating between Robinson St Field and Whitman Middle and weekday practices as arranged by the parent-coaches.
• Skill sessions to be offered to both players and parent-coaches by Liverpool, our club partner, among others.
• Mixed-ability teams made up of both Whitman and Hanson players.
• Teams coached by pairings of Hanson and Whitman parent-coaches (assuming an adequate number of volunteers from both towns).

Kindergarten

The U6 program will run from 9:30 am - 10:30 am on Saturdays.  All U6 players will participate in a skills development program for the first half of the session followed by a game in the second half of the session. The program will be held at the Maquan School Field. Fall participants will be given a soccer ball sized appropriately for children from kindergarten to 2nd grade. 

Pre-K Kicker Program

The Pre-K Kickers program will run from 9:00 am - 10:00 am on Tuesday & Wednesday for 3, 4 & 5 year olds and from 8:30 am - 9:30 am on Saturdays for 4 & 5 year olds.  The Tuesday & Wednesday program will be held at the Robinson Street field; the Saturday program will be held at the Maquan School Field.  It will ask you to choose one of the three days you'd like to attend during the registration process.  Children can wear cleats/sneakers, shin guards, and a T-shirt is included in price.  


Goals of All Programs

The HYS instructional program involves boys and girls (Under 8, Under 7, Under 6 & Pre-K) in a recreational soccer program. The main objective of the program is for children to have fun playing soccer in an organized program, while also learning soccer skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, etc.  Boys and girls in all age groups are on separate teams. The program consists of an 7-week regular season.
The smaller teams and copious playing time allows every player to have more touches on the ball. This will build on their soccer skills quicker than sitting on a sideline!

HYS reversible mesh shirt (purchased separately at Maquan field for $20.00) 
Shin pads - (mandatory) 
Cleats (optional - HYS collects gently used cleats that are available each season)
